Rolling over at four weeks!!

Nathan is four weeks old today and he decided to prove to the world that he is growing up! I set him down for tummy time--which he hates--and he decided to take the matter into his own hands and roll over!! I couldn't believe it! I thought it was just luck so I set him on his tummy again and he did it four more times! It was amazing!

Nathan and Daddy

Last night my wonderful husband agreed to watch Nathan while I went to a movie with friends. He is such a good daddy and is so good to me. Anyway, this is what they were doing as I was leaving and I took a picture because I thought every baby needs a sleeping with daddy photo.

Our Little Man

We always joked with our sister Kori that she never dressed her babies as babies but as little men. I saw this outfit the other day and just had to get it because it was a "little man" outift. Kori has a point, baby boys are adorable dressed in real people clothes. Maybe I will have to buy more outfits like this one...

I was taking his picture and he smiled!

And then stuck his tongue out at me

Nathan and the Hippo

My family started a tradition of taking pictures of the grand kids every month with a stuff animal. That way you can see how the baby has grown/changed every month. This is Nathan with Tubby the Hippo at one week old.

Grandparents

We were so lucky to have both my parents come and stay with us during the first two weeks with Nathan. They were such a big help!! My dad even stayed up with Nathan one night to let me sleep. He is such an awesome grandpa! All the grandkids just love him and I'm so excited to see him with Nathan. One evening Dallin and I went out on a date and my parents babysat Nathan. I was a bit nervous about the whole idea, but my parents insisted. They did such a great job and it was really fun getting to go out one last time.

Apparently watching my son wears you out!! :)

Here are pictures of my parents on top of Y mountain. You would think grandparents would be slowing down, but my parents just keep speeding up! My mom hiked the Y twice while she was here and is involved in kick boxing, bike riding, running (she can run 10 miles), roller skating, personal training, and will be involved in a half marathon in the fall. And My dad is always right there with her too. I'm so proud of everything they have accomplished.

Woolseys meet Baby Nathan

My sister and her family were in town for the weekend and came to visit us.
This is my four year old niece, Kessa. She was so excited to see her new cousin. She came running in and immediately wanted to see baby Nathan. She was so cute and did such a good job holding him.

Our Gangster Baby!!

I love babies in hats! I think they are so adorable, but whenever I tried to put a hat on Nathan he would freak out. I decided to try one more time and I must have picked a good moment because he didn't cry this time. Dallin thought Nathan was so cute because the hat was a bit too big and it made him look like a gangster.

My baby is so advanced! At two weeks old he is already laughing! Okay, maybe he was sneezing :) but it does look like he's laughing.

Going Home

Oh the wonders of a pacifer! We weren't going to give him one so soon, but the nurses gave it to him in the hospital and once given it couldn't be taken away. Getting him ready to leave was funny because he was really content as long as the pacifer was in his mouth. Unfortunately new borns aren't really good at keeping pacifers in their mouths....

.....but Nathan sure tried!
This is how he looked pretty much the entire way home....and the entire first night. Needless to say, we didn't get much sleep our first night home.

Grammy getting Nathan dressed for the first time!

My mom made it to Utah the day we were leaving for the hopsital. She was so excited to see her new grandson and the two of them formed an instant bond. The last day in the hospital was really hectic with the nurses coming in to give us instructions and answer our questions. So Grammy got Nathan dressed for the journey home. It was nice finally seeing him in a cute outfit!

Brand New Nathan

I'm so glad that Daddy took alot of pictures of Nathan right after he was born because I didn't get to see alot of him. He had some breathing problems and so they had to take him to the NICU and I didn't really get to see him until the next day.

Nathan was born with a huge cone in the back of his head. You can kind of see it in this picture but it doesn't do it justice. It obviously hurt him alot too because whenever the nurses tried to put a hat on his head or even touch his head he would scream. Poor baby! Luckily it healed by the next day.

Right after he was born, the doctor made a comment that Nathan was a big boy. I laughed and said that eight pounds was small considering Dallin was nearly eleven pounds at birth! I was pretty scared the Low/Smith genes would kill me! But luckily my little boy was a nice average size.
